The Barring Gene (Cuckoo)
The Barred Gene works the same as the cuckoo pattern for being passed on to the offspring.
Barring (B) is a sex-linked trait and can be mnaipulated to give sex-linked offspring.

Males can have 1 copy of (B) = single barred, or 2 copies of (B) = double barred; whereas females can only ever have one copy of (B), therefore only being capable of being single barred.
The sex-linked factor comes into play by the female. In breeding, the female can only ever pass her copy of the barring gene (B) to her male offspring. Males can pass their copy of (B) to both males and females, therefore not resulting in sexlinked chicks.
For example, breeding a solid black male over a barred female, will result in 50% single barred males, and 50% solid females.
Other combinations of barring, can be found on the chart.
